About the Department

The department of home science came into existence in the year 1995 in our college under the able supervision of Professor Mrs. Jasbir Kaur Bhogal. This department started with few Number of students but now it reaches the Highest strength Number of students ...

The main focus of this interdisciplinary field, an amalgam of science and arts, is to acquaint every girl student of the department with life skills to enable them to manage their resources efficiently and enhance individual employability besides developing self-confidence and personality. The role of home science signifies Knowledge from various field like- Food and Nutrition , Child care & Child development , Marriage and family relationship, education, Health & Hygiene, First-Aid, Textile & clothing, Extension Education, Home management etc. Different areas of this education prepare students for a variety job which raises our standard of living, maintaining good family life and prepare the students to meet the challenges of life for the devolvement of our society. Besides teaching learning activities, with members of the department take steps to develop different entrepreneur skill at our level and also organises the various awareness programme for the betterment of public health problems.
