About the Department

The study of Botany is vital as plants are a fundamental part of life on Earth. It is the scientific study of a Physiology, Genetics, Ecology, Distribution, Classification and economic importance of plants. With the challenges posed by environmental changes on the existing flora, the significance and scope of botany has widened to a great extent....

The department was established in 2019 started a course B.Sc. Medical. The department has sufficient infrastructure, well equipped labs and expert faculty in different fields of plant sciences. Department is enriched with the learning resources such as charts, slide, models and herbarium which help the students in independent learning. Department of botany also have Botanical Garden with various medicinal plants.

In addition to teaching, the faculty members are also engaged in the research and publications that have added immense value to the academic milieu. It targets add to providing an environment that encourages, promotes and stimulates the intellectual, professional and personal development of the student. A three-year bachelor’s degree programme in botany provides the foundation for perspective botanists to pursue a graduate level education or find an entry level career.
