Buddy Club Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Women, Dasuya

At present time in Punjab the use of Drugs has emerged as a big challenge. To curb drugs Punjab Government launched a Buddy program. The aim of this program is to educate the students about the damaging effects of the Drugs on health and society. Guru Teg Bahadur khalsa college for women, Dasuya continues to make every conscious effort to support this program. Under this program buddy club was established in the college in 2019.The Buddy Club organized various activities. In these activities students would we trained to encourage anti-drug efforts including how to say ‘NO Drugs’. For this purpose Buddy groups comprising of five students in each classes were made. Every class was allotted to a teacher by the Principal, called a Senior Buddy. From time to time Buddy groups organized Pledge ceremony, Essay writing, Poster making, Debate competition, group discussions and lectures by Senior buddies Including Nodal officer of the Institution. Students also get knowledge about measures taken by the state Government to abolish this menace of drugs. Through these efforts, college has been trying to instill self -confidence in the students so that they can express their feelings on the right platform, so that they can stay away from the evils related to drugs and can help for the betterment and development of the society.
